Hanover is still in with a chance as FC Bayern needs four points from the last two matches to ensure third place provided that Hanover wins their remaining two matches. However, this match will be a difficult one.
Stuttgart is safe from automatic relegation. However, Stuttgart isn’t safe when the play-off spot is considered. One point will guarantee safety for Stuttgart due to their superior goal difference. Stuttgart needs to be rebuilt next season. A season spent struggling at the bottom half of the table has probably finally convinced the board that one or two coaching changes a year will not solve problems which go much deeper than just the coaching role.
