Barcelona vs Real Madrid Match Preview
FC Barcelona will be defending a 2-0 aggregate lead when they face bitter rivals Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg.
This game is guaranteed to be hostile after the events that took place before, during and after the first leg. Real manager Jose Mourinho accused his Barca counterpart Josep Guardiola of criticizing referees “for making a correct decision.” The usually mild mannered Guardiola responded with an expletive riddled tirade that shocked the Spanish media.
The first 75 minutes of the first leg were largely notable for nothing more than niggling fouls and heated debate. At half-time a brawl as the teams entered the tunnel resulted in Barcelona backup goalkeeper Jose Pinto being shown a red card.
In the second half Real defender Pepe received his marching orders for a lunging foul on Dani Alves. Mourinho was sent to the stands for his furious reaction, and gave a scathing press conference claiming he was “disgusted at the world we live in,” and claimed he would like to see Guardiola win “one clean Champions League.”
KEY PLAYERS
Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona) – If Real are to have a chance of a comeback win, they must keep the little maestro quiet and prevent him adding to his season tally of over 50 goals.
Karim Benzema (Real Madrid) – The French striker was an unused substitute in the first leg, but will likely receive a start as Real chase a two goal deficit. With 6 goals for in only 8 Champions League games, Benzema has been Real’s most prolific marksman in Europe this season.

Clasico III: David Villa Must Rise To The Challenge Of Facing Real Madrid
David Villa returned to his scoring form after netting in the winner against Osasuna in the weekend. However, Live Soccer TV believe that it's almost time for Villa to make a difference against Real Madrid Today.
Villa was one of the most sought after player in World Football for the past few years with clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United being linked with him. He was probably one of the best strikers in the world and playing with Valencia never looked like a grandiose prospect for a man of his caliber.
As things few by, financial constraints at Valencia prompted a departure for the Spanish talisman and Catalonia was his next destination. Guardiola caught the eye of many by paying such a hefty price in the acquisition of Zlatan Ibrahimovic but never did the latter establish himself into the hearts of the Blaugrana faithful. And the arrival of Villa was more like an obvious clue for the en to Ibrahimovic's short time at Spain- which eventually became a fact as the Swedish striker left for AC Milan.
Villa had always seemed like the 'perfect' striker for Barca considering how well he connected with the likes of Xavi and Iniesta while playing for the Spanish National Team. It was always looking to be destined for a success story when it came to Villa and he did no harm to his reputation by planting himself into the Barca roots pretty quickly. 18 goals in seven months or so at the club never once looked like a bad record for a new striker.
However as the tale goes, Villa has struggled to find the back of the net ever since he scored against Mallorca in February. Despite scoring in his country's EURO 2012 Qualifiers against the Czech Republic in March, the flamboyant striker admitted to being worried of his recent goal drought that could have partially contributed to his team's difficulties in unlocking the defence of Los Blancos in the past two Clasicos.
Real Madrid vs Barcelona Match Preview
Real Madrid and Barcelona will clash at the Bernabeu on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League Semi-Final first leg.
This will be the third ‘El Clasico’ matchup inside of two weeks after a 1-1 La Liga draw in Madrid, and the Copa Del Rey Final that Madrid won 1-0 in extra time courtesy of a Cristiano Ronaldo goal.
The mind games between opposing managers with Barca manager Josep Guardiola telling the official UEFA website that Madrid will take “the tag of favorites” into the game.
Madrid boss Jose Mourinho responded in typically cool fashion when he told BBC Sport that “there exists no favorite.”
The excitement ahead of this game was summarized by Portugal legend Luis Figo. The winger has previously played for both clubs and told the official UEFA website he expects this tie to “go down in the history books.”
“These are matches that will always be remembered. They take place every year but they’re remembered due to the history behind the fixture. There’s a great rivalry between these clubs for football and also social reasons. That’s why they’re so big,” Figo told UEFA.com.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid Match Preview
Eighteen years later, Real Madrid look to become champions of Copa Del Rey 2011 in the Mestalla at Barcelona's expense. Don´t miss the biggest club football rivalry in the world as FC Barcelona clash once again with Real Madrid for the 2nd time this week.
Real Madrid missed a golden opportunity to shorten the gap from Barcelona in the chase for La Liga's title. La Liga title is surely Barcelona`s now. Wednesday's Copa Del Rey Final match offers a chance of redemption for the Galactico squad and an opportunity to show what they have learnt from Clasico 2010.
Real Madrid's midfielders struggled to keep up with the collective teamwork of Pep Guardiola's Blaugranas. Barcelona dominated the game -except for the last 20 minutes, Barcelona had a 80% possession of the ball- and Real Madrid was saved only thanks to David Villa's poor form.
Jose Mourinho's Madrid Clasico scheme had relative success against La Liga leaders Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu last Saturday. Sami Khedira, Xabi Alonso and Pepe kept Lio Messi and company under control, though the speed of the Argentinean and Spanish international Pedro was a constant headache for Blanco's defenders.
Perhaps los Blancos need a new approach to defeat Barcelona. Angel Di Maria and Cristiano Ronaldo were forced to assist with the defense often times during the last El Clasico, isolating either Karim Benzema or Emmanuel Adebayor, who were rendered harmless close to the Blaugrana area.
Gonzalo Higuain could also make it into the Copa Del Rey 2011 Final starting eleven, if Mourinho decides to sacrifice power to boost the speed and versatility on the attack.
German international Mesut Ozil was the most unbalancing player in the second half, harmonizing Real Madrid's attack with great success. The first title of the year is at stake, who'll be lifting the Copa Del Rey 2011 on Wednesday night?
Barcelona's goalkeeper Jose Manuel Pinto has guarded Cule's post throughout the whole 2010-2011 Copa Del Rey competition, but this might not be the only defensive modification on Pep Guardiola's scheme.
Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lio Messi broke their personal curses against their rival this Wednesday. Messi is the top Copa Del Rey striker with seven goals, Cristiano Ronaldo has six. This is another chapter in the history of a Herculean rivalry between Messi and Ronaldo. Who will lead its squad towards victory?
